Forum members, I am very sorry to hear that you are having trouble ordering my book, but some of that may be due to the logistics and negotiations of the re-printing. The book is being re-constructed for improvements such as hard-bound and editing improvements. We want a quality product, and these changes will accomplish that. Be patient while these things are being done. When you get several staffs and people involved, things don't always come together as deadlines become more complicated etc. I think you will be pleased with the changes. There were some very dissapointing results from the first printing and many of them were damaged and printed with damage to the covers and it has been a living nightmare, but GRS has come to the rescue. I hope you understand, and we are doing everything we can to get them available again. Thanks for your patience.

So Ron would you say I should cancel the order I made this week if I can and wait for the revised version?

Ron - I also ordered the book this week from FEGA and was wondering if you think it would be better to wait for the new printing. Thanks --Denny

Ron,
I would just like to say thanks so much for writing the book. The information, wisdom, and pictures of your work and your drawings are priceless to someone like me who is hasn't been at this a long time and is trying to improve. You have shared a lifetime of experience, knowledge, and philosophy with us. Best Wishes.

OK.
Here's the deal...
I have no idea when the new edition is coming out and I have no idea of the price either. I would think it will be significantly more expensive since it will be hardbound however. We were buying our books directly from Ron and I'm not even sure if we will be selling the new editon. I know we have some books left but we are running very short.

My best advise is to get the book "now" while you can.

The information and knowledge between the pages you need to know "now"

Worry about getting a hard bound better looking copy later whenever that may be. It's still the same wisdom between the pages and all of that knowledge will start helping you the sooner you get to read it.

Zernike.....................
I think you need to realise that FEGA is an organisation run by volunteers and members and it's full name is The Firearms Engravers Guild of America. It is a guild of firearms engravers in America and internationally and not a business as such.

Cheers

If this book goes the same as all of my other engraving books the first edition will hold a greater value than a second or third edition copy. Even though the later editions may be edited a little more or the cover may be changed the content will generally remain the same. In my opinion if one can get a first edition it may mean more to them in the long run.

Zernike, The only changes will be in durability (hardbound) and cosmetic (better graphics) on the designing of the cover. The interior of the book and the information will remain essentially the same. The processes for learning are structural elements and they have not and will not change, so the book refers to the root processes of study to get the most out of your time of study. The first printing was such a pain that any improvement in that area is welcome, but that takes time and the first book was more of a work book, while the newer version is going to be more of a book for your library so to speak, although it will still serve the same purpose, to teach. If you need good knowledge, you will be elated at the help this book can give you now, if you follow its instructions for learning. I apologize again for your inconvenience. I would recommend that you settle for whatever you can get at this time, because if you start over and re-order, I am sure any of the "first" books that become available will be delivered on a first come, first serve basis. The new book is uncertain at this time, and we don 't know if and when to tell you it will be available. ..............thanks for your patience.............

Other forum members, my friends,...........thanks for your support and your input on my behalf...... Ron S
