Hi everyone,

Below are my latest three coin carvings: A traditional style hobo nickel and two silver dollars. For the coin collectors out there, the left dollar is based on the 1892 Columbian Exposition half dollar and the right coin is based on the Charles Barber pattern trade dollar of 1873. I carved them this month as a display at the American numismatic Association's summer seminar in Colorado Springs. I was one of the lucky six who won an all expenses paid trip there for a week long engraving seminar sponsored by the Gilroy Roberts foundation. The scholarship also includes a week next summer as well. As most people progably don't know who he was, Gilroy was the designer of the Kennedy half dollar, 8th chief engraver of the U.S. mint, and founder of the Franklin mint, as well as an all around nice guy. Well, I'm off to pack. Thanks for reading.
