looks pretty good to me. Did you make the blank yourself? What is it made of , steel & brass?

Looks very nice!
If you want even more contrast between the buckle and the engaving, you might consider "browning" or "blueing" the buckle first, then engraving it.
I like the buckles made like that, without a tongue, makes them more wearable in my opinion.

yes i cut the blank out of 1/8 steel the leaf is brass......i will try coloring the buckle then engraving on it with the next practice piece......thanks for you two cents .....:)
i am having trouble with the shading of the leaves.... practice will cure that....:D

I have seen some of your other buckles on the bit, buckle & spur forum and I have got to
say that there is very noticeable improvement with this piece in particular. You keep on
advancing forward. Nice job!
