Hello everyone from Alaska. I was searching "engravers block" on google and saw a home made block on here. That's all it took, I'm going to continue reading and learning.

I'm a new engraver, I started lessons a few months ago and got distracted. Picked it up again this week and remembered why I loved it. Thanks for reading and thanks for being willing to share your experience.

Great!! Thanks guys. I've only completed two projects. I'm focusing on northwestern Native Art. I was born and raised in Sitka Alaska. I'll post pics when I start taking them, right now I'm just "scratching the surface" so to speak. Thanks again for the support and I'm anxious to start sharing projects on here.

Hello landlocked, welcome to the forum. I've always wanted to visit Sitka to see St. Michael's Cathedral. Maybe someday. :)

Take a look at what Andrew Biggs has done with the Maori of New Zealand. His engravings capture the essence of Maori tradition, and are at the top of the ladder skill wise. To use that example for the Northwest Native Art could be amazing.

Welcome to the forum. Just ask and somebody will have an answer, maybe even THE answer.
