Wanted to make a post to say hello to everyone. Been reading through all the other posts and archive like a mad man and can't get enough of it. Just closed my Taxidermy studio down after 18 years because of a back injury and have been drawing for a tattoo artist for the last year or so. I have wanted th learn to engrave metals since I was a little guy checking out the low riders in California. Now that my studio is closed up and my kids are off to college, I have finally found the time to invest into learning what I need to know. I'm not really interested in micro engraving rings and such, more looking into doing larger pieces and can sure use any and all advice that might come my way. Thank you all very much for having me at your table.

welcome to the forum. get yerself a large looseleaf binder. also a few hundred pencils. start looking thru the tips section. take lots of notes, and call us in the morning. there's enough info here to ruin your eyes, even if you only look at half of it. you're already an artist. that's a huge hurdle for many newbs. luckily, not a problem for you. if you can draw for a tat parlor, you can draw just about anything.
