This is a knife I made for my old boss. He is a big Jimmy Buffet fan. Its a damascus blade with gold sailboats on the ocean, the handle is black palm, and the bolisters are architechical nickel silver witch I will never use again, it doesn't cut clean.

Dave, Isn't human creativity fantastic? I love the theme particularly. Unique and very simple in it's expression.Good Job! Was the silver gummy and sluggish? Are you using any lubricants on your gravers?

quite a nice knife, don't think you'd have to be a Buffet fan to like this one.
I have a question, what is architechical nickel silver?

Ron, I also engraved a henery golden boy reciver that was the same material. I think its a mixture of silver, anuminum, and brass. It's hardness is inconsisant when cutting. even with lubracant it doesn't cut clean. The shavings come out in clumps instead of curals.

David, there is a lot of I think "indian" hollow ware made out of that stuff. If I am right it is gritty, slippery, and pitty. It is awful and there is not much you can do about it. Your lucky to get it done with any success at all. Bravo!..... Ron S
