Problem with Monarch

For some reason...I cant get it to respond. YES.. I have talked to it numerous times No really... I have adjusted the strokes every which way and still doesnt seem to cut. I understand it is for fine work, so tried an extra light touch while cutting. nothing still. is there something I can check to see if it working properly?

I'm not sure if you are saying it quit working or you never could get it to work.
If it was working and isn't now, it probably needs to be cleaned. A quick check is to turn off the air/power to it and "shake" it. If you hear the piston moving back and forth, it usually means it is clean. With humidity and bad air, it could be dirty. Go to the GRS web site for instructions if you don't have them.
If you just got it and can't get it to work, be sure to adjust the air pressure properly. Again, the GRS web site. The best method to adjust air pressure is with the "ear method" but turning the air up until you just hear the piston rattle and then turned up until it just quits.

Along with what Rex suggests with you in LA you may want to check and empty your air compressor of any water that may be in it. If you have an upward run with your air it's not much of a problem, but if you have a level or downward run the moisture goes into the hand piece.

I've switched back and forth from the 901 before and forgot to lower the air pressure for the monarch. It uses about half the air pressure of the 901, so if you just "plugged" it in and didn't take the air pressure down to zero and then back up it may be too high for the handpiece.

Mike's suggestion is a good idea, and here is a step further. Do you have a filter on your line? If you don't, you might need one. If you do, look and see if it is full of water. If it is, you might have to clean the whole thing. (filtering system). You have a drain at the bottom of the filter bowl. unscrew it a bit and the water will blow out, but if it has gone that far that the tool doesn't work at all, the filter mechanism might have to be cleaned, blown, and dried out. (hair drier works pretty good). Some ideas to try not exactly knowing your situation............Hope this helps.......I'm kind of new at this power assist stuff myself, but learning.
