Nice to learn he also did engraving, new word for me dry point going to have to search that one up, unless someone here knows.



OK here is more info...but know "the intaglio family" now I have to research that, how many techniques are in the intaglio family...I love this stuff.

Carlos,If your interested in etching there are two good books I would recommend The Art of Etching by E.S.Lumsen and The Complete Etchings of Rembrant by Gary Schwartz,both books Dover Publications. Rembrant was a master when came to etching and a master of light & shadow. J.J.

Painter Karl Bodmer was also trained in copper plate engraving. Stipple work has long been used even in wood engraving (not wood cut) for print making and book illustrating.
