Hi there everybody I am new in this artistic place and happy
to be part of.....
I saw TallGary's tips in the ring holder modification and just
wanted to add something....
The little problem that I see is drilling a whole in the vise
because the whole is not right in the center of the vise.
It takes more time to focous the microscope when You are engraving
a ring around the face.......So I drilled the same ring holder that sells
GRS and You hold the piece right in the center of your vise that way
the ring is going to be always in the microscope eye......
Here are some pictures ........
I hope they help and have a nice day....

Very nice Roy!

I use a turntable under my vise so being a little off center doesn't present a problem. For engravers that don't use a turntable or positioning vise, your mod will work nicely -- and you don't need to demount the vise jaw and drill & tap a blind hole.

Very well done!

Gary
