Sam's monograms on some Buck knives

I just finished engraving 8 groomsmen gift knives for a customer in Boston. These really cool looking letters are from Sam's monogram kit. That is the first "Z" I have ever engraved! These anniversary model Buck 110's sure make nice gifts. The brass is a little inconsistent (hard then soft and sometimes gooey) but overall they engrave ok. Used a 116 for most of it. The background texture is a light cross hatch pattern I put in with a bench top mill before engraving. Thanks for looking ~David

That cross hatch pattern is a lot of passes with a milling cutter, CNC would pay dividends on a job like this. Turned out very nicely.

Don, my little mill does have the cnc add on and although the programming and workholding take up a LOT of time it sure beats one pass at a time when doing multiple knives.
