G'day all

I have a question about sharpening laps, can lapidary discs be used to sharpen gravers, I am building a power hone and the lapidary discs look like a good alternative, (if they work on gravers) and are not to badly priced over here.

regards Russ

Hi Russ

And welcome aboard. Good to see an Aussie cousin on the forum.

You have to watch out for these guys as they get the Austrailian and New Zealand accents mixed up :)

Cheers

I use the diamond lapidary laps for doing the roughing on new gravers. as i can get 100 grit in them. Make sure you get a look at them before you buy, as you want the flat lapidary laps, and not the faceting laps. The faceting laps do not have as much diamond as the flats. And a way you can save money is to get the thin stick on extender laps, they work great. Make sure you use a lube on the laps, as they are designed to be lubricated.
