Some tricky coloring on Ti engraving wedding bands

Some progress on Titanium wedding bands. Have to add five diamonds in the lady's ring.
The man accepted the design too, as long as I would not engrave flowers on his ring.
To make the design look more male, I decided to only cut a backbone.

Coloring the engraving only I did quite smart. Before starting engraving the design, I first anodized the bands around 65 volt which is the lightest color, light flashy blue.
After flare cutting I colored the engraving around 22 volt, because that volt is less than the first layer, it only colors the "blank" ti.

I was thinking a photo realistic colored bulino scene could be done this way. Yes I know a lot of planing about each cut to have what color.
Perhaps a Van Gogh could work, anyone who want to give that a try?

Nice picture Arnaud, a question about the edge or border on the side of the ring, I noticed you do these often, how do you achieve this.
Just by cutting unregular with a ( lets say 120 graver) along the edge?
It gives a very nice side line.

Very nice rings. Could you tell me how durable the anodizing is for rings and bracelets? It seems that the anodizing would wear off easily.

Yes Willem, something like that for the border I call the "bite of border"
RFS, the anodizing has been tested in extremely conditions, and it doesn't wear of easily. Now the inside of a cut like these, I would not know how that could wear of. It is protected by the surface no?

Nice job on the rings! I have never engraved on titanium before, any rules or tips to engraving it? Does it always have to be anodized after engraving? If you order a ring that is already anodized can you still engrave it? What kind of graver are you using? Glensteel? Stuff like that. Thanks

Jake, anodizing is just what it says, and it colors the Ti. It isn't annealing you probably refer to.
Depending on the grade of the Ti alloy, you could use a Glensteel graver. No special tricks needed.
Carbide graver is what I use.
