The videos from the FEGA 2007 convention are now available, apparently on a pre-order basis, on the FEGA site, although they indicate the pre order set is available for members only. I attended the one given by Andrew Biggs on Corel Draw and the one given by Sam Welch on photographing your work, but did not attend the one given by Joe Rundel. The seminar by Andrew was excellent and was packed with a great deal of information about how to use Corel Draw, but I don't think that all of the information was something that you could fully absorb during the seminar and one definitely needs to study the video to get it all down. Of course, Andrew made it seem easy, even if he did mis-pronounce some words. Unfortunately, I managed to forget most of the things that Andrew said by the time I had finished my second Bloody Mary up in the casino. The seminar by Sam Welch was also great and he explains how to take pictures of your work to actually capture your work the way it looks to the eye. Sam's seminar was much less technical and I was actually able to make notes as he went along and, with the help of my notes, remembered most of what he said, the Bloody Mary's notwithstanding.

Hi Jon
I object to that!!!!! I didn’t mis-pronounce anything……………….you guys just can’t understand New Zealandese which is the proper Queens English (help me out here Marcus). :) :) :)

This is how it normally went. I was sitting in the bar at the hotel in Reno and I asked a couple of people where Rex was. They looked at me with that blank “who’s heâ€￾ look. I repeated my self and said “Rex…you know…Rex Pedersen….President of FEGAâ€￾.

They went “ohhh……. you mean Rexâ€￾.
I said “that’s what I said…Rexâ€￾
They said “No….not Rex. Rex!!â€￾
“That’s What I said…Rexâ€￾
“No… you’re saying Racksâ€￾
“No I’m not. I’m saying Rex, you’re saying Wrecksâ€￾
“Wrecks, not Racksâ€￾
“Racksâ€￾
“Wrecksâ€￾

Just then Rex wanders over and is greeted with a chorus of “Hi Wrecks, hi Racksâ€￾ and he’s looking over his shoulder thinking “Who’s he!!!!!â€￾

Cheers :D

Ah yes Andrew....
I answer to "most"anything.
I think it was Diane Scalese that was wondering why you needed "towels" to work with Corel Draw... Then she realized you saying "tools"....
It all comes together about 10 minutes into the video, right mate???

Hi Racks

Towels Indeed !!!!!

Don't get me started on asking a Mexican/Spanish speaking American where the toilet was. That one took a while!!!

It was a lot of fun. At one stage talking with Ray Philips from Ngraver we both had tears running down our cheeks with laughter about the whole pronounciation thing. Even John B sometimes would look at me with that "what did he just say" look on his face. :D

Mind you it did work the other way as well. John B and I were having lunch in LA at a Diner restaurant. A lovley waitress took my order which was a steak special they had on the menu. She asked how I would like my eggs done. Before I could answer she rattled off this huge list of how I could have my eggs cooked. The look of utter confusion on my face must have said it all as John just leaned over with a big smile on his face and said "Fried or poached"

I had no idea you guys had 200 ways to cook eggs!!!!!

Cheers

Andrew,
It is like the smart guy said "we are only separated by a common language". We just know where the accent goes.

How were your eggs?

You have a great day.

Hi Sandy

The eggs were great and the company even better!!!

I havn't had a chance to use those fantastic flies you sent me yet as it's winter over here and the season is closed. I'm very much looking forward to using them in October when the season re-opens.

Cheers
Andrew
