Attacked by a giant spider

So there I was, minding my own business teaching a class at the Alexandre school, when suddenly I was attacked by a giant bird-eating spider. Fortunately I was armed with a #42 flat graver (40 degree face w/15 degree radius heel) mounted in a GRS 901 Airtact handpiece running 2300 strokes per minute. It was an extremely close call, but I survived the ordeal.

Don't know who looks more frightened, you or the spider... OK, I admit I was just being nice...You absolutely look more frightened than the spider. This is one job where you might be better off with a BIG hammer and a chisel.

Yep I remember, that's about how big the bugs are in Louisiana. But I don't remember any of the Cajun folk being afraid of them. I remember cockroaches as big as birds and rats as big as dogs. They just called them Palmettos and Nutrias or something like that.
Abi I'll bet you could cook up a mean pot of red beans though.

Ok, I have a slight confession to make. While the spider is real...it's only the skin. This particular species (Tim, forgive me...I misplaced its name) sheds its skin. Tim brought the empty spider to show the class, and while it looks like a living and breathing beast, it's only the shell. Dispite this, it's still a bit creepy having it on your shirt! / ~Sam

A friend of mine gave me a molt from one of his Tarantulas. When I brought it home to show the wife it didn't go well.. She didn't seem to care that it was just a shell. Even my grown son who usually likes this sort of thing shrieked liked a school girl when I put it in front of him.
It was fun.......
