I like that style, "En Ta****erie" as I find it very appealing, unfortunately I do not see it being done very often. Of course most of the time it is executed on a background of small English scrolls. I thought I would give a more American flair to the style.

As usual I did post larger picture here:

Just in case one would you like to see it in more detail

PS. No, it is not a bad word I know about either in French or in English so lets try to do it that way so any eventual reader may know what I am speaking about T A P I S S E R I E

I hope you had a good time (at the show) you know, they do not let me out often. I am working on a transportable setup to maybe do one or two shows a year. Are you going to Vegas?

En tap1sserie?

Thierry,
I like it! What are the characteristics that make this different than other styles? I looked up the word and it showed mostly patterned cloth work, some with floral or scroll work.
Thanks

Thierry,
That's a beautiful scroll design. The strong scroll backbones really step out. I like the borderless border too.
I've been working on my English scrolls and was stuck until I looked at your YouTube video. I worked virtually frame by frame watching and cutting at the same time, it helped me understand how to form the tiny leaf elements . Thank you for posting your work .

En Ta....... differs in the sense that instead of isolating your point of focus, like you would do on a classical scroll and bouquet style, where the bouquet is surrounded by a negative space the bouquet would be part of its own surrounding, the bouquet will not standout because of its isolation. That style require the viewer to look at the engraving to discover the different elements instead to have them jump at him. It is like a tapestry where no element is given priority. Of course the same effect can be attain with animal.

As its name indicate this style take its inspiration from tapestry, not from the Middle East or Asia but from Middle age Europe. I will add that one of the reason I like this style is because it is subdue you have to look for things, as for the border I do not like them, in general, they isolate, frame the engraving and make it very static.
