welcome to the forum. if i were to try doing bulino, i'd first make every effort to start with a very smooth, scratch free surface to practice. i also would have picked a better duck head. i feel the open beak just looks bad at the size you show. a closed beak, in my opinion, would be a better choice.
I agree that the open bill/beak throws it off. I just don’t see what it is supposed to look like. On the good side your graver control looks good and I think you did a real good job where the bill meets the head. Nice shading on the cheek.
