I would probably just use a smaller diameter cylinder, maybe 1.5"/4cm, and round off the end a bit so the spoon fits better without quite so much hot glue.
It has threaded inserts for a custom-built set of hand rest plates. Should be four, but one came loose and I've never got around to gluing it back in.
And as John recommended, dapping blocks will work, but can't be turned 360 degrees to position ANY spot on the object square/parallel to the...
Once again, I made the mistake of saying, "Yeah, sure, I can do that for you..." (Will I EVER learn???) and needed to figure out how to hold a teaspoon to engrave the inner concave surface with some new baby data. Here's what I came up with. It's a 2.5"D cylinder of stainless steel with a big...

Frank, is your vac slaved to the sharpener switch? If it isn't, or if anybody else is interested, woodworking suppliers (Rockler.com, et. al.) have special switched outlets that kick on the dust collector when the powertool is triggered, so you don't have to turn it on separately and never...
fill the flask right to the brim with fine, DRY* sand and screw the cap on. if you want it to feel really, really, really solid, you can trickle it full of water after putting in the sand, but you will be flushing wet sand out of it for a good while (yet another lesson learned the hard way)...
i don't know whether to laugh, applaud, shake my head, or roll my eyes at the infamous classic "flame job", but i gotta admit it does look kinda cool...
