Thank you for the observation. I have some original flintlock mounts that I will be making molds from. There is old oil and dirt in the recesses of the engraving.
I recently had some surgery to my left hand, which resulted in some nerve and circulation problems. The hand cramps when cold. Turing my stainless ball (cold) sets up a cramp. Anyone tried any methods of warming a vise. I am using a low profile Lindsay.
Hi Richard, I am guessing you are planning to use the raised dot border on the barrel breech? Somewhere, I have a tutorial on the process that I prepared for my NMLRA seminar. Why don't you give me a call and I can better understand your goal. 541-941-0395
I recently added a polarizing filter to my LED ring light. It does wonders for reducing glare on highly polished surfaces. I wish I had acquired one a long time ago.
I should have noted that I am using a led dimmable ring light with diffuser. As viewed through the eyepieces the glare is manageable but when transmitted by the camera to a monitor it diminishes visibility.
Have any of you added a polarizing Unit to your microscope with camera? Leica has a polarizing filter and analyzer but it is over $500.00. Thoughts on alternatives? My goal is to reduce the glare generated from reflective surfaces.
