Thought I would share this DIY (of sorts) power hone. The work surface is 3d printed and at the correct 1/2 inch height for Lindsay templates.
The 1 inch wide wheel and fixture in the front is used to grind a small flat on round carbide blanks so the graver can be indexed in the Lindsay template. (you can order a custom sharpening fixture from Steve that can use round blanks as opposed to square.)
The 1000 grit 6 inch diamond laps and aluminum backers can be found on Amazon very cheap. The grinder has no speed control but I’ve been using it only for the initial shaping then touching up on bench stones.
I imagine a similar setup could be made from most standard bench grinders with a little ingenuity.
