My first gun engraving! I now a have clientele of ONE! This is a Pietta remake of the 1858 cap n ball revolver. The customer asked for a Nimschke styled engraving with my ideas thrown in, he didn't want true Nimschke engraving or American/McKenzie. Delivered 2 cylinders, frame, barrel and assorted parts to me to play with. Progress has been slow, as this is a brand new area I am working in. Designed and built the holding jigs instead of buying them, so I could understand the process. I inlayed a single 0.020", 24 carat gold band on the one cylinder, and two 0.012" bands on the other. The barrel (not pictured) has matching bands, a single at the muzzle and a double closer to the frame. The frame is cast brass and the pits and voids are issues I am learning to deal with. I have MANY hours into this el cheapo revolver, but, it is a pay job! The customer is always right! (unless they're not) Thanks for looking! Comments welcomed and encouraged!

Thanks everyone!!! Working really hard to make everything as "clean" as possible. I have taken Ray Cover's Basic and Intermediate classes and he made it very clear to me "Even the best design, executed poorly, will not look good." This is a simple design to do, I had to take extra care and patience to make the lines as perfect as I could. ~Doug Larson
