I've been busy and definitely getting the hang of Rolex steel. I've found that Glensteel and Chris' new HSS gravers seem to work best; they dull rather than break which is always a bonus, especially when working on high value items.
Along with my usual gun work, I've managed to cut 2 more watches and here are a couple of preview pics from the K&T website. I am particularly pleased with the English scroll watch. It's cut in the old victorian style which includes some single point cutting away of background. Although it takes longer to execute, in my view, it really punches the scrolls forward. I was also very pleased with the trout; in some ways it's a shame it's on the watch back but, on the other hand, it's nice to have some "secret art" where only the wearer knows what's on their wrist.
Next project is a Panerai........
