You are getting ahead of yourself on scrollwork. Practice drawing perfectly concentric spirals (also called backbones) before you move onto the inside and outside work. No matter what you put inside or outside, a spiral with doglegs or elbows will throw off the entire composition.
Understood. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I tend to lean forward in the sturrips so to speak and do sometimes get ahead of myself.. I have recently begun just focusing on the spirals. It does seem to be the most challenging part of the artwork portion of this.
