Sometimes things just develop and you have to run with it. As a bit of a background, there was back in the late 1800’s a famous gundhop in Dursngo, colorado called the Colorado Armory. It was run by the famous gunmaker George Freund. He is famous for many unique gun patents. A frirnd of mine builds Sharps tifles uding the uniwue Freund Patent Improvements on his rifles.A few years back he built me one and I engraved it up as my Durango Gun with period scenes.
Now here is where it gets fun. The original armory is now a Spa Shop. When the building was remodeled a friend of mine saved dome of the original floor joist thry yore out from the building. I managed yo get hold of a couple of pieces snd being the ex woodshop teacher built a case for my Durango rifle with repurposed wood from the original armory.
Here is how it turned out 0A36AEED-320D-4AEC-8B37-162EDC1D7BA7.jpeg 0319BC89-4AF2-4222-9934-B990DAF205FC.jpeg B4F25CB8-36FF-4B7F-9A87-3AAD17729EB9.jpeg

That’s as pleasing as a day in the spa. That must’ve been fun to see through to the end.

The floor joists were pretty interesting to redo
