Air pressur and Engraving handpice

Dear professionals, (Edited and revised question)
Recently, we have integrated a new workshop's regular air compressor (45gallons, 5hp/ Showed below) in engraving setup by considering future air requirements. We have added filters (oil/ moister) and regulate air pressure. Air is regulated between 40 to 60 Psi toward the handpiece.

My question is why the piston of handpiece is not coming back after the application of said pressure.?
would I need to modify the system or shall follow different pressures on this system? Or any suggestion please. (Below actual equipment are illustrated for a better understanding of the installed system).

The details of your system are not complete, but generally, for a five horsepower system you will want to set the regulator on the machine to 90psi or higher. That regulator that comes on the machine controls the motor and setting the pressure too low will cause the motor to run hot. After your filters, put a second regulator to control your hand piece to the factory suggested pressure. If the piston is still sticking, tap the hand piece on the palm of your hand. Often that will get the piston moving again. The piston can stick if it hasn’t been used in awhile, or having been used at lower than suggested pressure.

If the filters are after the pressure regulation, you will get less at the engraving point. If the run is too long, you will get less pressure at the engraving point. Pressure will fall a little as soon as you start to use air, so the air pressure reaching the engraving machine needs to be above its requirements (but below its max allowable). I set my compressor to provide halfway between the min and max for my engraving machine.

What hand piece are you using?
We are using locally available Handpiece. Kindly refer to my question again as I have edited that and illustrated it with the diagram and actual equipment installed.

Dear Silvermon, thanks for kind response and hoping great. During reading replies, I did feel to explain more about my problem so I have edited my question and illustrated the air supply system with actual equipment and diagram. Kindly have a look at it that will best explanation. Cheers.

The piston can also stick if there is oil or dirt in the system coming from the compressor.
John, Thanks much for your response. It's a newly installed system that is even not operated for 30 minutes. Just compressor is operated to circulate and pressure build the air in the tank. Would you please refer and consult my question that is edited for more clarification of issues. i have added a diagram illustrating the actual equipment used in a system.

Dear Allen, Thanks much for the time you have spent in response. Actually pressure regulators come after the air filters. The pressure building is not an issue since the compressor is having 5HP and a big tank. I have given accurate pressures from 40 to 60 PSI but in vain.
Kindly see my updated question illustrating the system with a diagram and actual equipment that is being used. Surely thankful.

Those handpieces are meant to be used with a control box, they will not work by connecting directly to air pressure. You will need a control box made by GRS or Enset. these machines take the compressor air and then provide pulses of air to the hand piece which allow the piston to cycle back and forth.

What locally available handpiece is it? Surely not GRS or Enset....
Turbo ag2 or Turbo ag3 perhaps?
I am wondering why your supplier can't help you out...they should be able to tell you how to make it work correctly and help you set it up and troubleshoot any problems you are having?

With a spring in the handpiece it is meant to receive spurts of air rather than a steady flow.. with a steady flow there will be no reciprocation..
I believe there are other systems (gravemeister?) that operated on a similar principle but with suction,,,
Anyways, from your illustration it looks like you are missing a lunchbox sized component that adapts the flow of air, as well allows you to regulate the force you are using..
Also, you will need the foot pedal that will fine tune what gets transferred to. Your handpiece

Mohammad, I recognize that hand piece... I wanted to be sure I had the minerals before buying a expensive setup and purchased that hand piece with a control box and foot pedal. So your current problem is your missing half the system. Your second problem is “as hard as it is to say” is even with that full system ”which I used for several months“ you will not get anything close to experiencing a controllable graver. It will make noise, it will vibrate, you will be able to scratch metal and it may light a fire in your heart for engraving but you will be learning with a gorilla on your back. After I finalized my decision to spend the money on a genuine engraving machine my work instantly changed for the better ten fold, I quickly realized I had been focusing 85% of my attention on fighting that “replica“ hand piece and couldn’t devote any of the attention needed to learn or practice anything meaningful.
PS here’s a picture of what your missing that will make that hand piece “work”
