Hello everyone, I am an newbie and I have friends who are dying for me to do graving on some alloy frame revolvers including gold inlay witch i have never attempted. should i treat it like steel or is it a completely different animal?

my experience with alloys is that none are the same some cut decent and some crumble i agree with john b definitely do some practice cuts

ihave only done one gun of that alloy. it cut rather crumbly and gummy at the same time. a bit of lube made the cutting at least tollerable. ymmv
