Amscopes...Anyone familiar with these..

I am thinking about buying a microscope and seen Amscopes on ebay. Does anyone have any experience with this brand of scope? They seem pretty cheap compared to others.....

don't know that brand. i took a chance on a "sciencescope" stereo zoomer. quite happy with it

Thanks Monk. I have only seen these AmScopes on ebay so I really don't know if they are of any quality or not. Thought maybe someone on here may have seen, used or heard if they are any good. They are quite reasonable (OK, cheap). I am kind of thinking that "you get what you pay for".

You're thinking is correct. You definitely get what you pay for.

My questions to microscope buyers is:
Does the one set of eyes you have deserve good optics or cheap optics?
Are you willing to save money by buying cheap, dim, and less sharp eyeglasses?

My advice is to not cut corners on a micrscope.
