Rod,
Thanks so much for posting these really fine photos. I think I was too nervous as a first time exhibitor (camera shake) to to get any good photos.

Many thanks, dear colleagues!

Mike,

we did not get our usual good long chats, and I regret this, only one or two short bursts, so double rations of catch up next time, it is always fun to hang with you.

I put up another wee album of cruisin' the glitter of the town, seven guys, and one fine young and handsome scrim artist lady, our colleague, Katherine Plumber. Needless to say, Katherine, shows up in the photos more than us guys. She told us she really enjoyed the four or five hours of walking with us, and we had fun, all the more with Layne's knowledge of where and when to go, he got us to the orchestrated fountain show, which was a blast. I have a good video including the great music to which the fountains girate... superb, thanks Layne!

I need some one to help me compressthe video and post a link, guess I will ask someone 15 years old or younger.

best

Rod

PS. I am now in Colorado Springs with my sister, and just round the corner from Dave London.

Thanks Rod! I enjoyed the walk and the company. Now that it looks like Vegas is our new home, we'll have to make our little tour of the strip an annual event. You'll have to limit your pics of Katherine to every other fountain next time though or we'll never make it to the Luxor!
Cheers,
Layne Z.

I had the BEST time in Las Vegas! Huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put the show together in the new venue!:biggrin:

Rod, thanks for taking and posting so many pics! Every year I think maybe I'll get around and see/photograph things, but in the end it's just too hard to leave my table for any length of time!

Going out and exploring the city with the guys was a fantastic part of the "Las Vegas experience" (though I did NOT find Elvis!) I always enjoy seeing my friends, and it was great to meet some new folks this year! I hope to see you all again next year, and to those of you who thought about going and didn't go... GO!

Can't wait til the next one!

-Katherine

ps- yes next year I think I'll take a cue from the street performers and charge for photos.;)

Thank you Rod! it's always good to see your photo presentations of shows I can't (or can!) attend. You certainly capture the spirit and thanks for taking the trouble to post them!

We'll find an Elvis for you next year Katherine! Maybe Roger can bring a pompadour wig just in case. With the right hair and sparkly jumpsuit he could pull it off.

That's because he was making a personal appearance in Scotland, where he is canonized, complete with halo, Katherine.

I was almost convinced he was real, however, turned out to be fiberglass, darn.

We missed you and Abigail, Sam,

and many other worthies, however, you certainly put on the miles around the world, and pile on the posts yearly in ways that support engraving, thank you so much!

next time...

Thanks for the pictures. You seem to get around the entire event, whatever it may be, and it's nice to see your perspective. Most of the time you capture details that are easily missed when just "walking through."

Every time I looked over at your table, Tira, you were busy, so I must conclude that exposure and interest were good for you, well done.

Thank you for your kind remarks.

My little box of goodies is now in Mendocino safely. I write from Colorado Springs airport, where I await my cousin coming in for a week to help out with my sister. My wife and I have had a good stay here with Joan, who is not doing well. Dave London lives five minutes away and I had tool talk with he and our forum 'Coincutter' Steve, who came down from Denver. Dave has good tools, and it is like a candy store for me, a toolmaker, he has a very good sense of order, so a pleasure to eyeball his collection. I got some really good tips.

This is not the correct thread, but I just have to let you see Dave's wood carving skills, he is such a positive and modest mannered poster on the forums, but if I could carve a bird like this, I would be bragging on the street corner...

best

Rod
