I think you need to change your handle to "Mozart" in reference to the child prodigy.
Your accomplishments in less than 2 months are phenomenal !

You have gone through brain surgery, rehab, bought the proper tools for the job, taught yourself to sharpen tools, figured out how to hold the item to be engraved, transfered, mastered tool control and cut lines that are as precise as a laser cut design. All without a single slip ! So where did the slippery surface come in ?

Granted the Cafe is composed of ignorant country bumpkins of which I am as country as it gets, BUT! that doesn't mean we're ignorant !

Fool me once, shame on me,
...

Wow. Thank you. I am obviously not a child prodigy but I have worked really hard to overcome a lot the last few months. Someone commented about me living on St. Simons Islander and having money...yeah, maybe a little money but I travel in a van to Jacksonville for rehab every day with stroke victims and brain patients.

I work at engraving trying to improve myself. I am working to get better. Thanks for your encouraging words.

Oh, sorry. I think you were being sarcastic. I bought equipment before illness, just got started and then got diagnosis and had surgery. I'm confused by your comments. What are you trying to say?

I think you are mad at me. I have been working on engraving for 6 months now. I don't know why you are offended. Sorry.

I took a five day course at Grs last September....basic western engraving. It was great but I don't want to do western engraving...it was the only course I could get into at the time. Western engraving is awesome but I have never even riden a horse so it's not me. Bought equipment, started engraving and got sick...but keep trying....and will continue to do so. Hope to study and learn more in the future. Still don't understand your anger.

i had the dbs surgery a couple years ago. the tremors (head and hand) stopped the moment voltage was applied to my implanted electrodes. for the longest time i had to refrain from doing any fine type cutting. now that the tremors are gone, i have a "jumping" eye. almost useless to do anything under the scope. sadly corrective glasses made the situation worse. i have just learned to not exceed what i know are my physical limits. i no longer trust myself to do guns or anything of value that a customer may bring my way. i mostly do work on items (jewelry and such) of my own creation. this way, if i screw something up, it goes to scrap, and i do it over again. i wish you luck in the rehab process.

Thanks Monk. I know what you mean about the jumping eye but I think engraving is great rehab. Best to you as well
