I’m envious. I had the good fortune to meet and speak very briefly with Mr. Smith on one occasion. Funny how some people can make a life long impression in just one minute. I wish him many more years of health and happiness.

Ron is the nicest, friendliest gentleman, and quite generous with his knowledge, time, philosophical wisdom, mentorship and encouragement! Meeting him in Las Vegas at the FEGA convention a couple of years ago was certainly my highlight, a revered grand icon, humble guru, and well-respected sage in the engraving world!

Ron smith is an easy guy to love. I love his philosophy on life. in my opinion his Winchester was the best piece of engraving I have ever seen. I told him so and he replied "you think so?" What a master this guy was. Not a conceited bone in his body. After he cut off his thumb he still did some great engraving , After looking at it I told him I was going home and cut off my thumb.
