Does anyone have any experience with the Browning 380 ACP pistol? I have been asked to do some scroll work on the top of the barrel and I'm not sure how hard the metal will be. Any ideas?

Hello,

Browning in general are very pleasant to engrave. Both shotguns and pistols. Sometime their rifles can be very hard especially the bolt action.

Tira, you should have no problem with it. I've cut Browning Hi Powers with no issues what so ever. The Belgium made guns where really nice to cut except for a few areas that were spot hardened, just had to switch to carbide for those. David

It might make a difference as to the vintage. Early 380 Brownings were good but the later issues were made from other vendors such a Beretta. I don't have experience with those but the early ones are fine.
