Question: Buck 112

I was just wondering if anyone who has done some Buck 110's or Buck 112's know if the steel of the release mechanism is engraveable?

I am currently working on a steel plate, which has been in and out the vise too many times, so I will try and finish all the scrolls on that first, but I want to make a start on a Buck 112 I purchased to engrave. I would really like to engrave that steel release, but it might cause more headaches that pleasure, hahaha.

If anyone knows, please let me know.

I was kinda hoping it would be a regular piece of stainless in contact with a spring...hahaha.
I'll skip that part then and concentrate on the brass parts only.
