Flooding, unfortunately, but it's only surface flooding thank goodness and it usually drains away pretty quickly once it stops raining......... Well, I hope it does!!
When the big earthquakes happened a couple of years ago it raised parts of the river beds and lowered some of the ground around them. So if we get a super heavy rain then areas of the city start flooding which is fairly normal for any city I suspect. There are two main rivers that run through the city, the Avon and the Heathcote, and both are spring fed with a lot of small feeder and runoff streams running into them. We live only 5 minutes walk from the Anon river
Oh yeah. And we are expecting a big snow in the next couple of days. Joy.
