I'm working on a set of three 2nd Generation Colt SSA revolvers - three barrel lengths, Custom Shop Ivory Grips, and with consecutive serial numbers. I have completed much of the work on various areas of the three, but this is the cylinder of the first....inlaid with gold and platinum borders and the four playing card suits. The suits are raised inlay and sculpted - very challenging!

Outstanding work, hope to see the finished set when your done. Really like the way you finished the suits. I noticed you finished two sides of the cylinder without inlay using just scroll, did you consider using jokers... just curious.

I did consider that, but these will be cased with the two others and having the 2 scrolled flutes, one under the frame top and the other facing the bottom of the frame, it made little sense to incude the Jokers there. There are three guns, three different barrel lengths and with consecutive serial numbers in this set. There's lots of space left to engrave and inlay with subject matter - inlcuding a Joker or two in the overall theme.

Makes sense if they are being cased and for presentation only. Thank you Mike... your work is among my favorite, love the designs and the character you give the pieces you work on and am interested to see how you will finish the set.
