cutting angles

Hi im new to the site and im impressed. I have been making book binding tools in hard brass using a Dremel engraver and dental burs for some time. I need to add finer detail, could some one please explain the cutting angles needed on tools and a description of the terms used like 'heel'. I am a engineer by trade so I should be able to make my own gravers with a little bit of help.
