There is a jewelers tool used for marking ring sizes called "mark asizs" which would be very rigid due to its fixed size gaps the down side is b atitis fixed at 1/4 ring size increments (1/10 inch) 2.5 mmso 1/2 ring size should be 1.25 mm. If your design would allow for the cha ge it might be worth considering
