Dubbing a graver.

That is a good picture Sam! I cut a lot of tough stainless. I hold my just sharpened graver vertical on my Arkansas stone and make a small V. If I think I need more I make a W. Trick for me is not to push down and allow only the weight of the graver to drag on the stone. Mostly I get it just right but sometimes not. Even with dubbing I still need to resharpen many, many times each day. I don't always dub especially when I need very precise lines or shading.
