If they're older watch that aren't to thin for engraving and they run. Maybe. Brand name can also be important.
For three hundred, I would think the gold watch was gold filled rather than solid.

The American Waltham is a common or generic. Manufactured between 1897-1898 size 6. It did come in a 14kt model. It would be stamped on the cover not pictured. That would be the inside of the back cover not the movement cover. If it's stamped 20 or 25 years it gold filled. The other is also a generic. The case is sterling silver made in England. The little mark under .935 I believe is a date mark when the case was made but I can't tell what it is. An educated guess the silver watch is older than the other. Pocket watches are more valuable usually if signed by another watch maker other than just the manufacturer of the movement. Both are very nice looking watches though. I would say if the gold one is gold as stated, and they run, they would be nice to add to a collection.
Just my uneducated knowledge.

From the looks of the photos it looks like the gold watch is running. the silver one has something funny on or near the main spring (it may be nothing, to hard to tell from photos) and I can't tell if it's running or not. The silver one has jeweled movement the gold one doesn't look like it has any or maybe just a couple. I'm no watch expert though...

i don't know squat about the value of these as collectors' items. i would think they're worth that just because of how very nice looking they are. what would one of us, today, charge to do that work ??
that's something to think about !

waltham watches model 90, according to serial number it's made 1897. As Mike said it must be stamped with 14kt and American Waltham Watches hallmark, but there is no one. I would say this case was made custom.
