Okay. I've been doing my homework. I've been on the phone with the cap manufacturer and the embroidery people. I've checked paypal fees, and am trying to find an inexpensive but sturdy package to ship in. My goal is to keep the price down to about $20.00 (plus shipping). It looks like I can do this if I order a large quantity of caps but this requires me to invest several hundred bucks initially.

I really appreciate the feedback on the other "cap" thread that I started. (You guys are so much fun!)
Now, before I invest the money, I really want to get an idea of whether or not ya'll are truly interested in a cap at "around $20.00 plus shipping".

If I get enough interest, I will place the order!

Cheers!
Abigail

Abigail,
I'm in for a Engraver's Cafe hat...
You might check with a local embroidery shop. Digitizing the artwork will be the big expense, $100 or less.
A local shop will be more flexible on the quantity... A USPS priority mail, 8x8x8 box, is free and costs $5 to ship. Personally, I'd prefer that the artwork matches the Engraver's Cafe pin and hats be available in black or white....
Thanks,
Stephen

I'm in for a couple.
I like the style you have pictured, with a real life job white is to dirty and black is to hot, I wear hats every day while working in the hot sun or crawling under houses.

Hi Stephen,
I already got the artwork digitized, and yes, it was more expensive than I had anticipated, but Sam is very happy with his new cap, so it is worth it. Actually, getting the caps embroidered is where the expense lies. The embroidery on the one cap I had made really looks good and I don't want to sacrifice quality for a cheaper price.
Thank you for the tip on the shipping! I'm still checking into that, too.
We'll see what happens!
Cheers,
Abigail

Is it okay for the lurkers to get in on it? I'd like one, too, please.
