Hello Forum friends, I'm still new here and I'm learning a lot about engraving. This is my most recent engraved plaque. Following the tips I received here, this time I added hatches and closed the contours well. But I would like the opinion of friends here on the

Forum, where I can improve and some tips. I still don't have an engraving ball, and I cut with a 90⁰ manual burin and a knife. I used black shoe polish to highlight the engraving.

Unfortunately in my country there are no schools or courses on the subject and no books. I learned some tips here and also on YouTube.

Best Regards

Your work just goes to show that equipment doesnt make the engraver. Very nice work! Even a rank amature like myself can see that.

Well done!
Good cutting and shading.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the compliment, this is the first ornamental print I've added shadow to, the end result was much more attractive with the shadows.
Thank you very much for your opinion

Hello, thank you very much for your observation, I sometimes notice some friction when cutting, because I still don't have an engraving ball, so I use a thick glass plate as a base and a soft fabric underneath to make turning easier. But this support has helped me a lot. I will practice more

Thank you, I always try to improve, patience and dedication.
Considering the short time you have been engraving, the tools and equipment you have at your disposal,
your engraving and shading are outstanding.
If you keep applying yourself with the same diligence you will become a remarkable engraving artist!
