Enlay / Overlay Gun Blueing

Hello everyone

I was just thinking last night about inlaying / overlaying gold and silver into my gun project, and blueing of that gun. I was wondering, do you engrave / sculpt the inlay / overlay before or after the blueing is done. That is to say, after I have inlayed the boarder I am thinking about doing a running wheat pattern on it. Do I do this after the gun is blued, or before? It seems to make more sense to me to do it after, but I just want to make sure by asking the experts.

If you want to make life easy for yourself, blue the gun after applying any gold/silver.
