I called the Seattle office of the ATF this afternoon inquiring about a LLC for firearms engravers. I was told that a licence wasn't required to ship a gun within the State, in this case Washington. It's only when a firearm crosses State lines that a FFL is needed (customer to engraver or engraver back to customer). This makes sense but it sounds way to good to be true coming from a federal government bureaucracy.

Any input?

If you keep a firearm overnight, you must have a FFL.
