Brownells did at one time, sell a file especially for draw filing barrels. It was a large file with no tang and wider than a regular file. Does anyone know where such a file could be purchased. I understand that Brownells no longer has them.

tdelewis,What kind of barrels do you want to draw file? rifle, shotgun or pistol.Draw filing is not hard just take your time, for the shot gun barrels I make my own striker files to run up & down the length of the barrels both for double or single barrels.I buy my files from the hardware store in town. Those were sweet files but I can't find one either. I use a plain Nicholson mill ******* file and just draw file the flats slowly. If you try and rush it you'll find it easy to start rocking the file which is what you don't want.

If you get a long one it will also be wider which is a plus. You can cut the tang off with a cutoff wheel if you want. That end is still soft compared to the business end.
