don't you hate it when your wife does the annual audit and discovers "horrible excesses" in groceries for the year, and there's almost never anything in the fridge ?

Don't you hate it when...

- There's too much oil/H2O on a diamond wheel, and you get a nice pretty spray pattern all over a good shirt when you turn it on?
- Someone insists that a CNC machine or some other computerized wonder can "do engraving better than a person can"
- You look into your scope, and there's some sort of crud in the optics, and despite your best efforts, it cannot be removed? How did it get INSIDE the lense?
- There is a sticky spot in your turntable, and it will always seem to hang up in the middle of a tight, critical scrolling cut, rather than an easy arc.

Don't you hate it when... You've been working on an engraved blade, lets say a dagger with a bunch of cut outs for 18kt gold, you get it back from the heat treated and in your over zellous attempt to expand the
18kt rose gold into the cavities, ( thick 18 kt rose don't move to good) you pick up a bigger forging hammer and brake the blade in half. Kind of like the oaky used car garentee I get to keep both pieces. Don't you hate that.

Well, well, well. It seems as if the bench jinx decided to camp out here this weekend.

Don't you hate it when you execute a laser perfect, flawless .020" inlay line border completely around a 1911 slide, only to realize that "all" of your gold wire is .015".
Aw shucks!

Don't you just really hate it when .....your customer is looking at an engraved platinum wedding ring and asks '' How much is that ring? You answer "The finished ring as you see it is $2200.00 - the plain ring is $1800 and the engraving adds $400" "Oh that's way too much - how much would that engraving be on a sterling ring?" "$400" "Oh that can't be right! It's only sterling"! Happened - truly!

Don't you hate it when the customer complains about the price and then drives away in his loaded 2008 Mercedes.

Hi Brian, I realize your post was half for fun.
But just to jog your memory on the wire size thing..... and I know you know this.
But it might help some of the newer folks who run into this problem.
Twist the wires together and you can fill a bigger line than your wire is sized for.
If you have a draw plate you can thin each of them down a little before twisting or just lay
them in side-by side.
Best regards, don't let those bench gremlins get to you!

John, you're right about doubling up the wires, but in this case .015" + .015" = .030".Way too much to waste, so therefore, the wire will have to be drawn down.

I guess the funny part is that I drew the wire down from .020" to .015" before I cut the channel.
I was supposed to cut the channel to .015"----I picked up the wrong tool and went to town.

And don't you hate it went that happens?

BTW----the bracelet auctioned for $300.00
