Nice carving! I don't think you need critique as you obviously have good carving skills and any criticism would be more a matter of taste and style. That's the nice thing about hobo nickels, they give the carver a lot of freedom. Thanks for sharing.

No great carving skills, just patience. I have some decent gear, but this coin took me a month...I have carved 8 coins in 8 months...the more I look at it the more I see my faults...mostly in the neck...too straight and contrived...background texture good, border work decent...Bit everything below the bottom hair and jawline is our

Kind of like the high collar and stiff neck myself. We are our own worst critics. I know for myself, I may have done one engraving I was really satisfied with in the last two years. I did pick up some nickels a couple of days ago and this one inspires me to start carving my first! Very nice work.
