I thought I was ready to make the leap from practice plates to my first knife. I have been push engraving for years and finally purchased an air tool a few months back. Took a while to get used to it along with the "new"graver geometries that I was not used to. I was also unfamiliar with scroll designs. Ron's book and this site got me started on the long journey to putting it all together... which I realize has just begun.

Hi Barry

That's great!!!! You've filled the space well and it's a very pleasing design and well cut.

It's a nice feeling isn't it, going from a practice plate to an actual project. :)

Let's see more of your work in the future.

Cheers
Andrew

That is at least 1000 times better than MY first knife! Excellent job, Barry! Congratulations.

Barry, that really looks great. Thumbs up!
I would have never guessed it was a first! Be sure to post your next project, too.
(I was teasing Sam in the post I made above because he has a really funny story about his very first knife)
