This is been taking a lot of time. It is designed to hold .308 casing for engraving. The rounds are from the 21 gun salute for my fallen brothers. Not tried about 85 to 90% done. Thanks for looking. Rob

Did you attach the correct photo? The caption says it’s for holding pistol cylinders, and that’s what it looks like. An interesting set up, but not for .308 brass.

a boss lookin device. i agree with mitch. this appears to be overkill if it is for spent rounds.

The enormous weight and initial inertia turning the brass case will aid in the small diameter scratching. And YES it is for .308 casings, or probly a few 50's

Is that a small vice? For a magnablock the scale looks like the fixture would be really big for holding .308 brass. Maybe a shot with an empty case in it, ready to engrave, would help with my perceptual difficulty.

grs standard, and the mass I'm sure will help in turning the 308 case, right now I am having trouble with the er20 collets pushing my depth stop out$%@((& upon tightening

I believe I found the problem........somebody at the lathe turned the stop with a slight taper...............
