Garage News: Sculpted buttplate progress

Amazing work Lee. It looks like the top section is not completely sculpted but yet you have dot punched the background on the lower section. If I am seeing it correctly then did you punch the lower section just to kind of break up the process or is there a bigger reason?

Dan, I was anxious to see what it might look like when finished. I’m still deciding what finish to use maybe just what you see.

I would say look no further. It is beautiful. I love the pantina/shading especially the flower under and right of the middle hummingbird. The dot punch really stands out and gives a perfect contrast. I even had to look back at the pictures of the action because I didn’t recall the dot punch. The action is great too but for some reason the butt plate just ‘pops’.
