I have found in my learnings (everyday) that the geometry of any graver/burin at any intersecting point is VERY important. To the point of using for 20-30 minutes before dull.......not broke. If one of the heels appears to be microscopically different than the other side..........you are headed for frustration!!!!! Just saying.

maybe a little over descriptive...............can't really measure it. I will just say..........looking at it under the microscope, the sight paths on either side of the heel should be identical, as identical under the scope as possible. Under my emz 5 that is.

okk, that my be the trick. i just always eyeballed mine. for me that worked. if my eye saw a bit of deviation, just a tiny touch would make things right. if you have a way that works, no need to change your mo.
