Hello everyone and thank you for all the information and for sharing. I really like this forum.
I'm new. I've had a little practice with the ngraver. Never sold anything.
My question is... Do I actually need a microscope system? I really want to be a good engraver (someday I plan on taking a class). I live in Amarillo, Texas and don't know of anyone teaching nearby so will have to travel. Yes I'm on a tight budget. I have ordered a set up this week from GRS. At this time I plan on lettering and western bright cut. Jewelry, buckles, bits and Spurs are my interest.
Thank you for any direction and advice.

You might try this guy, Spur is a lot closer to you, and he has offered classes in the past.

Another thing, on May 9 - 12, 2019, the Western Heritage Classic is held in Abilene, I suggest a quick trip to see the exhibits. It will give you a chance to visit with other bit and spur makers.

Thank you! I've heard of Matt through through my day job.

I will definitely make a point of being at the Western Heritage Classic this year.
