First off this stuff if great....
I am wondering if there is a way to transfer all the fine detail that prints on the film to the metal. I have my HP 1000 set to print "plain paper - Best" and print only with the black ink. However, I see lots of image (fine detail) that is not transfering. Is there something that Im missing or amIm expecting too much? It is almost like there needs to be more ink applied to transfer film.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Archie

Add more damar varnish to the mix, or better yet dump out the magic stuff and mix up a batch of damar and naphtha 25/75 mixture. You'll thank me later!

I agree with Bert on the damar varnish, i did not have naptha on hand and just used the acetone i had on hand, works just fine.

Don't do anything to the mix as it works perfectly if your surface is properly prepared. Clean it with alcohol and swab it on lightly with a Q-tip ( I use my finger) and blow it dry. It doesn't need to be thick. I've done it this way on every surface I've used it on and have never had a problem since he started selling the stuff.

If there is print left on the transparency it may be a function of that particular brand of film or how you burnish it. Rule out all other possibilities before you go trying to reformulate a proven solution. If all is right, you should get all the ink to transfer.

i soon got over the notion of transferring every possible line. i do the drawing oversize for reference, but the actual transfer contains far fewer lines.
